Roaring River - Ellijay, Georgia
(1 hour 45 minute drive from Atlanta,
Sleeps 9, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, remote, pet friendly, riverfront)

Whether you're enjoying the beautiful and well known Coosawattee River from the large covered decks of this home or while soaking in the luxurious hot tub, we think you’ll agree that life is good at Roaring River. This spacious home provides a great place to entertain family and/or friends or just relax with that someone special. Grab a good book or your favorite beverage and rock a while on the deck, listening to the music of the Coosawattee.

The well equipped kitchen is open to the great room where a lovely rock gas log fireplace will surely warm you up on a cool North Georgia night. The impressive King Master loft upstairs, is as comfortable as it is beautiful and comes complete with a 32" flat screen TV and a stylish private bath with it's own jetted tub. The Main floor bedroom offers a full and twin bunk and looks out over the River. The full bath on this level offers a walk-in shower. The terrace level provides another entertaining hot spot with a pool table, a 47" flat screen TV with seating and another King bedroom and a full bath with walk-in shower. The riverside fire pit is the perfect spot to make some s'mores or throw a wiener on a stick for roasting.

So pack the bags, grab the kids and don’t forget the family pet and head on up to Roaring River, where you’re sure to have a roaring good time! The cabin's perched on a small, but steep hill and offers beautiful panoramic views of the river. For your safety please park in the provided area next to the road and walk up wooden stairs to the cabin. This home is conveniently located in Ellijay, home of the famous "Georgia Apple Festival" and only 35 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge where unique shopping and fabulous dining await you!

  • Kiddush cup, challah board, and cover
  • Havdallah set
  • Eight NCSY Bentchers
  • Hot water urn

  • While not specifically Judaic, rafts and flotation vests are available for friend/family use.

Insider/Area Info

  • Master Bedroom Loft - The master bedroom is a loft (i.e. no fourth wall).  This design enhances the “cabiney feel,” but does come with a decrease in privacy.
  • Steep Unusable Driveway - The cabin’s slight elevation above the Coosawattee River provides great views.  The offset is that our driveway is too steep to be safely driven.  Guests must use the 34 stairs between the cabin and the parking area and river.  This minor inconvenience is most pertinent when loading or unloading supplies from the car.
  • Remote Location – Despite being located within a 5,500+ acre resort community and well within a two hour drive of Atlanta, this cabin has a very remote feel to it.  The nearest shopping is a 20 minute drive.  Not an issue for those of us who actually want to get away, but sometimes a challenge for others who are accustomed to six Kroger runs a day.
  • Deck – The deck is a wonderful venue for relaxing, reading, eating, or even napping.  Without being screened, it can get “buggy” in the warmer months.
  • Coosawattee River – It’s the river that makes this place the beautiful, entertaining, and therapeutic cabin it is.  This large, clean, beautiful river outside the front door is good for tubing, wading/swimming, fishing, and walking alongside.  In the summer, there will be many tubers floating down the river in front of the cabin.  Keep in mind these tubers are not familiar with Jewish guidelines of modest dress.
  • Wildlife – Past experience is no guarantee of future performance, but we have seen many deer on every visit to this cabin.
  • Resort Amenities – Though you would never know it from the cabin’s remote location, the property is located within the confines of the well-amenitized Coosawattee River Resort.  It’s a short drive from the cabin to community pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, parks, and other facilities

Insider/Area Info

  • Cabin Amenities – The cabin itself is loaded with things to do and/or places to simply relax peacefully.  Other than a couple short hiking paths through the woods, there is not too much to do immediately off the property.  In other words, you will be driving if you want to do real hikes, play in a river/lake, or be a tourist.
  • Outdoor Eating & Relaxing – This cabin has a screened-in outdoor porch.  This could be a consideration for anyone who likes to be outside but gets squeamish about flying insects.
